Mr. Shorstein was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report/Best Lawyers as the best white collar crime defense lawyer for the Jacksonville, Florida area. Only one attorney is chosen for this award in the entire Northeast Florida region. Mr. Shorstein's peers recognized his record in handling a variety of white collar crime cases in state and federal courts including mortgage fraud cases, pain clinic cases and several others involving fraud allegations against individuals and corporations.
Mr. Shorstein was also one of three finalists for a United States Attorney position in Florida, which is appointed by the president. Based on his unparalleled experience in criminal law and related legal matters, he was seriously considered to be the head of the entire United States Attorney's office for the Middle District of Florida which covers a district spanning from Jacksonville to Tampa. However, Mr. Shorstein will remain in private practice at Shorstein & Lasnetski and continue to represent defendants in state and federal criminal cases as well as individuals and companies in business litigation and personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Additionally, Jeremy Lasnetski was recently recognized by The Florida Bar (the governing entity for all attorneys in Florida) as one of only ten private lawyers in Jacksonville, Florida to be board certified in the area of criminal litigation. Board certification in the area of criminal law distinguishes Mr. Lasnetski with the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar in terms of knowledge, skills and proficiency in the areas of criminal defense litigation and professionalism.
